Hi {FIRST_NAME| Friend}

At last I have opened my store on Etsy.com
And after only a year and a half on the "To Do" list.
That must be a personal best.

If eBay is the worlds biggest garage sale (or car boot sale, for my transatlantic chums), then Etsy is the Worlds Largest Craft Fair.

It offers handmade goodies from across the world, whether it is

and now ...

Etsy is open to all to view the splendid goods for sale, but to buy you must be a registered user. Registration is free...the goodies, alas, are not.

If you are going to join, please consider putting my user name - JoBradney - as the referral.
Apparently I get brownie points.

Are you an old hand with Etsy? Then please email your favorite stores so I can share them next month. And yes, shameless self-promotion of your own store is most certainly allowed.

As this month's Art Break might turn out to be more of a Craft Break, I think you should choose your favorite homemade chunky oatmeal munchie and prepare to be tempted.

Let me start you on your way with a plate of Coconut Ice
(an irresistible tooth-aching weakness of mine)
enjoy

Jo

Scott Moore, playing with scale

I'd like to thank fellow Art Break reader Rona for sharing a link for an artist she thought might interest me.
And boy was she right!

I had such a splendid time nosing round Scott's site one rainy Saturday afternoon and thought you might enjoy it too.

It was great watching The Money Game grow bit by bit - at least his economy seems to have some life! I found his simple narrative peppered with valuable lessons - from his initial creative sketches and thoughts; the practical considerations of making such a HUGE canvas and the myriad painting tips scattered throughout.

But it doesn't matter how much of his process he reveals, it merely serves to highlight how elusive is the magic that can make pigs fly.

If you enjoyed watching his paintings progress, the whole of Gallery IV will whet you appetite on the next wet weekend in store.

Do you have a favorite artist website? Share it with us in upcoming Art Break letters.

Name this Sketch for a Free Print

Well the "Carbon Footprints" are definitely getting larger and juicier.

Tidying up my studio really paid off when I discovered a forgotten set of pastel pencils. When combined with the charcoal drawings I think they have the look of an old hand colored photograph.

With these larger drawings I will be giving away a free mini print to thank you {FIRST_NAME| }, for your title suggestion in the weekly "Name that Sketch" posting.
So tune in; get creative and leave me a comment.

Larger prints are available at the Etsy store
