Hi {FIRST_NAME|Art Fan}

Phew! Four shows in one month - that's a lot of note cards!

I also met lots of lovely people at the Maplewood Farmer's Market who stopped by between the pumpkins and the collard greens;

the Lion's Club Benefit at Birchwood Manor was a splendid affair - such a yummy hot buffet and my first ever caviar;
(Dear Santa - please bring me a large jar of caviar)

and the Holiday Sale at Sunrise Senior Living was a lot of fun.

Among the Onions - colored pencil drawing

I have been running a raffle all this month for new customers, subscribers and anyone who stopped by my stall to say "Howdy" and I am happy to announce that the winner is Pat Tine.
A large "Among the Onions" print will be on its way to her.

I will be running another raffle this month for new subscribers, so please forward this newsletter to an art loving friend who may like to join our clan.

Only three shows this month and a chance to draw breathe; draw some new pictures and maybe have Thanksgiving weekend off!

hope you can find the time to enjoy the "mists and mellow fruitfulness"

January Show Preview
.................................

This month I went to visit the gallery at the JCC in West Orange, where my two person show will be in January 2010. On previous visits I have been more interested in looking at the art, nibbling the cheese and talking with friends.

This time I was looking with different eyes.
  • where do I need large stunning pieces of work
  • where will be suitable for smaller, more intimate pictures
  • where are the doors
  • how does the hanging system work

I will be putting together a virtual show to get a general overview of the exhibition. To be able to move work around and swap images on a screen, rather than stuffing the living room with 16 paintings will be a great help
(to my back and my marriage!)

As a subscriber to Art Break you can share in the process and take a peek behind the curtain to see how an art show is pulled together.
Stop by often, as I will be constantly changing my mind!

17" x 23"

This is not truly “trash”, as I have a hard time actually throwing away useful cardboard boxes and bubble wrap, and these guys have ended up in the basement, with the ever growing collection.

I am still giving away a free mini print every Friday to thank you for your title suggestions in "Name that Sketch". So click here {FIRST_NAME| }; get creative and leave me a comment.

Did you miss the freebie on your favorite picture?
8" x 10" archival giclée prints are now available at the Etsy store for just $18
