Tonight is the opening party for the Hilltop Art Show, with wine and beer tastings, and fine food samples from local Inns and Cafes and of course a wealth of art from 50 artists to delight you as you nibble.
Wednesday morning's art delivered turned into a joyful surprise as I swooped along the graceful curves of Rt 15 surrounded by the ripening golden mountains - I am even looking forward to the return journey as the sun sets this evening, despite the prospect of Friday night traffic. Tickets for tonight's extravaganza are $60, but the art show is open for free for the rest of the weekend, so get you Foliage Fix this year with a wee trip to Sparta!

I love the deep rich brown of soy sauce, such a beguiling mixture of opacity and translucence. And the reflection in the white plate brings out those spicy orange undertones
There are lots of good brushy bits (an artistic technical term) which I'm quite pleased with. I think painting larger is definitely started to have an impact on my small still life paintings, with more expressive brushstrokes and intense saturated color left visible for you to enjoy.
Gallery U will be offering up some tempting treats this summer with their new show "Confection"
Stop by the opening on Thursday 29th June and treat your taste buds to some delicious morsels from many local bakeries whilst you feast your eyes on the talent of your local artists

I am really enjoying painting these mini morsels. Up close they have an abstract quality, where you can enjoy the patterns, colors and brushstrokes. As you get further away, those patterns of colors and blobs of paint dissolve into a tasty little picture
Today is the Affordable Art Fair at Montclair Art Museum where you can meet 25 local artists in the beautiful Leir Hall Assembly Room.

How very exciting - one of my little paintings has been chosen for Metro 28, the annual small works show at City Without Walls (CWOW), in Newark NJ
The question is which one?
Guess I will have to wait for the opening this Thursday night to discover which of these little beauties made it through the Swimsuit Round and on to the Personality Test
So tell me, how would you solve world hunger? A Bag of Cheese Doodles, left over fortune cookies and a couple of beers - Inspired!
