Boy these were fun to draw - wrinkly slack skin, weird sprouty tentacles and worm holes. What were these aliens doing in the back of my cupboard?

Thursday is running errands day. I'm one of those really annoying people that will not leave their cup alone when the coffee is done. It gets crushed, folded, ripped and  re-sculpted and turned into"art". This is quite a tame re-creation, but I liked the spirally crunch effect so much and knew that I wanted to draw it. It took SUPREME effort not to touch it again.

The elegantly simple twisting lines; the contrasting textures of the slick skin and the rough inside and that weird fuzzy stalk. And all against the clock - banana skins don't last too long, especially under a hot studio lamp. Such a good afternoon, and such a delicious smell of warm banana.

Raisins in the making - these wizened old guys caught my eye just before they hit the trash. All those fiddly details did cause me a bit of cramp though, so maybe they're not the only ones showing signs of age.
