Put a little window of calm on your crazy desk for 2012

2012 desk calendar with mini easel

You can change the way we see our world. When the stuff we see everyday is illuminated, we wake up to the beauty around us and learn to take pleasure in the simplest things - a truly useful gift to give anyone this holiday

From the waft of fresh tomatoes on the vine in July to the comforting richness of hot chocolate and cream in dark November, the Everyday Illuminations calendar encourages you to take a mini meditation at your desk, a small but constant reminder to enjoy the moment

The 12 cards come with their own chic perspex card-case display, or a cute wooden artist’s easel. And if you want to reuse and recycle your own easel from last year, you can order the cards just by themselves

And to help share the joy, get free shipping - worldwide -  on everything in the store Just by typing SHIPIT in the coupon box at checkout - hurry coupon expires Tuesday Nov 15th

Bake by Numbers

rainbow cookie small still life oil painting | SOLD

Chemically bright cake, sandwiched with gooey jam then wrapped in chocolate - if ever a snack deserved the phrase "taste the rainbow" it would be this little Italian confection. I never can resist their call at the store, even when they turn red, white and blue in July.

The rainbow background tries to capture that over-sugared, hyped on chemical colors feeling they give me - a cartoon zinginess that makes me feel I could take on a Godzilla attack

This rainbow has been brought to you by the numbers #5 & #6Yellow, #3  & #40Red, #1Blue

Cheez Lousie!

Cheez Louise, oil 14x18"

Well the barometer is definitely pointing to "blanket snuggles and a cheesy movie" this weekend and it wouldn't be complete without the evil goodness of a quality Cheese Snack ...or is that Cheez Snax? (oh dear - the spellcheck has just exploded)

Once I pop that bag open I can inhale the whole lot in one movie nom-nom-nom Can't resist that cheezy powdery goodness

And neither could the proud new owner of this cheesy wonder - it sold right off the easel, hardly even dry. Apparently once glance was enough to send her scurrying to the grocery, succumbing to the Cheesy Poofs of Evil

I have created a monster!

Rosy Harvest Apples

A Rosy Harvest : oil : 8x8" | SOLD

Two crisp pink apples on a rich chocolate brown background - just perfect for the ripening harvest weather. This delicious beauty is Miss September in the new 2012 calendar (10% of through October)

I delivered the original painting to the Mountain Art Show in Bernardsville last weekend

It was a fabulous drive  through glorious fall farmland and then a winding road up the mountain to the most beautiful little church in the woods. We even managed a picnic in the park on the way home and a long walk kicking up the leaves and sniffing the ripening October air

Opening Reception : Sunday October 23 6-8pm Show : October 24-30

St John on the Mountain 379 Mt Harmony Rd Bernardsville, NJ

Sugar Spiral in Toothache Pink

Sugar Spiral, oil 14x18"

For me, this color pink is as painful as nails on a blackboard. It just sets my teeth on edge. But I had such fun painting that plastic bag; the gooey chocolate frosting; and the swirling, shifting shadow that it took the edge off the silent screech working its way slowly down my spine

This sugary confection will have it's first outing at the 7th Annual Wine Tasting and Fine Art Exhibit - a very fitting debut as the dessert buffet is definitely worth saving some room for!

Hosted by The Arc/Morris, The Randolph Lions Club and The Wayne Marino Scholarship Fund, the evenings events include Wine Seminar, Hors D’oeuvres, Music, Prizes and Art Exhibit. 50% of all art sales will benefit the charity
