Perfectly Broken : oil painting - 8x8" | SOLD
Luckily we only have a few minor scrapes and dings after Irene's visit this weekend. Nothing major broken And so far only a few annoying electrical blips...but I will keep the emergency lights handy until the ground dries out.

Smearing the wet paint to make the see-through plastic box and then laying on fresh clean paint for those irresistible spiky green vines - I had way too much fun with this one

lemon slice oil painting | 8x8" | SOLD
I'm very fond of this little painting. It was a fun challenge to try to catch that glow as it was lit from behind and to dull the yellow in the shady areas, without making my perfect lemon slice look grubby. You might need to see it in person to fully appreciate the purple and emerald green background, which shimmers like a heat haze. I can almost hear the cicadas singing when I look at this one

Painting lemons seemed an appropriately fresh summer indulgence to fight the inclination to linger with yet another tall glass of something zesty; off on an adventure to the Plains of Mongolia with Genghis
The added benefit of painting lemons is that, should the afternoon take a more... relaxed turn, there is always a lemon handy in the fridge

Thank you to everyone who made it out in the mizzling drizzle yesterday to the Montclair Museum Art Fair. As Sunday is not looking like a beach day either, stop by for half price admission to the museum and get a bit of culture instead.
